Equifax Inc. is one of the three largest consumer credit reporting agencies, with operations in 24 countries. In the United States, Equifax® provides businesses with a wide range of products and services — from business risk information, to financial marketing and analytical services.
The Equifax blog is a free educational resource delivering economic insights across a variety of industries and business topics. Due to limitations within the Equifax website at the time, the blog was originally built on an external Wordpress site. By 2021, those limitations no longer existed, and there was a strong desire to pull the blog content into the company website. The Equifax blog content team needed the user experience mapped out to include all of the existing Wordpress functionality, but with the Equifax business site look and feel, reusing existing elements as much as possible.
Skyward started by mapping a flow of the existing structure and functionality of the old Wordpress blog. The flow was then refined to include additional features and pathways requested by the Equifax blog content team. We documented all of the existing tags, categories, and authors and their relationships to every article, to aid in the consolidation of the navigation. We then combed through the Equifax business website to find existing components that could be utilized. A new user flow was created, mapping out the entire experience in the new look and feel, consistent with the Equifax business website.
Once the new mockups were approved, documentation detailing the new page templates and component enhancements were delivered to the Equifax development team to begin production. Equifax migrated the content from the old Wordpress blog into the new staging area, and Skyward reviewed every article page to check for accuracy and consistency. We optimized images to minimize load-times, and adjusted html to correct any minor layout issues that occurred during the migration. The new blog is easy to update, easy to navigate, and aligned with Equifax brand standards.
